The app and website was built in collaboration with the CDC, the Coronavirus Task Force of the White House and FEMA to provide users with the most accurate web-based information.
“To help you stay informed, understand symptoms and take proper steps to protect your health, Apple has created a COVID-19 website and a US app in partnership with the CDC. As always, the data is yours and your privacy is protected. Stay safe and healthy.” tweeted Apple CEO.
The tool was developed in collaboration with the CDC, coronavirus task force at the White House, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
On Friday both the website and the app became publicly accessible. The first question they’re asked when a user visits the site or installs the app is if they’re screening themselves or someone else..Apple said it won’t collect the answers users send to the queries about the app and the website and the responses won’t be submitted to either Apple or any governmental agency.
the same details will be available to users of Windows PCs, Android phones, and other non-Apple devices at a website that is open.Apple’s automated voice assistant, Siri, is also getting more information because when asked “How do I know if I have coronavirus, it will tell you about coronavirus now? ”.
It will also provide users with access to CDC tools and recommendations for installing Applications for Telehealth on the App Store. The app is actually only available in the US but you can access the website from India.
