We all have computer files that we would like to keep secret from the world, but not everyone knows how to encrypt a Windows 10 folder with password. Windows has built-in password protection service that allows you to keep your files secure from prying eyes.
So, let us have a look at the method by which users will be able to Protect A Folder In Windows 10.
Password Protect A Folder In Windows 10?
Method#1
✓Search for file or folder you wish to protect. Right-click on it and click Properties at the bottom of the context menu.
✓Now press the Advanced button in the Attributes section of the window.
✓Then select the Encrypt contents to secure data checkbox and click the OK button to get back to the main Properties window.
✓Press Apply and Windows will begin to encrypt your files.
Now click the notification and follow the prompts to make a note of your encryption key.
Note: You’ll need this information if you ever lose access to your encrypted files, so it’s important you take the time to back it up now.
That s it’s over, the files are protected now. They are encrypted with a key connected to your user account in Windows. If anyone else tries to access the file-whether from another user account or by physically removing the hard drive-the content tends to be meaningless garbled text.
Method#2
✓Then Add a new Text Document and double-click the text file to open it.
✓Now Copy/Paste the below text into the new document and make sure you replace Your-Password-Here in the text you have copied with the password you want to lock the folder with.
cls
