Last month Google secretly destroyed the dashboard, leaving users with no choice but to look through Android Studio at the update acceptance stats.

This moment was due to a previously announced update to Google Play Services, the core Android component that synchronizes contacts, keeps privacy settings up-to-date, makes location-based services less powered, and provides invaluable tools for third-party apps.

Here’s the complete breakdown

Android nameAndroid VersionDistribution Percentage (May 2019)
Ice Cream Sandwich40.30%
Jelly Bean4.1, 4.2, 4.33.20%
Lollipop5, 5.114.50%
Nougat7, 7.119.20%
Oreo8, 8.128.30%
Android’s longstanding version has lost its position as the world’s most successful single Android update. Jelly Bean’s two versions—4.1 and 4.2—now account for a greater share of Android use pie than Android’s 2.3, but it’s still small.
Jelly Bean currently accounts for 37.9 percent of the worldwide use of Android, while Gingerbread accounts for 34.1 per cent.
This does not mean the Gingerbread gadgets or applications already built would immediately cease operating. Rather, they’re likely to see less updates as developers move to newer Android devices and versions, apps will still have access to older libraries from Google Play Service, but those updated to 10.2.0 and newer will lose compatibility with Gingerbread.
